# Installation

### 1. Remove your old inventory

Stop and remove whatever inventory you were running, and anything that draws its own inventory screen. Two inventories at once will fight.

### 2. Start it in the right order

ox\_lib and oxmysql must start first:

```cfg
ensure ox_lib
ensure oxmysql
ensure ox_inventory
```

Keep the folder name as `ox_inventory`.

### 3. Tell it about your server

These go in `server.cfg`. Only the framework line really matters; the rest have sensible defaults.

```cfg
setr inventory:framework "esx"     # esx, qbx, ox or nd
setr inventory:slots 50            # pockets per player
setr inventory:weight 30000        # grams a player can carry
setr inventory:target false        # true to use ox_target for stashes and shops
setr inventory:police ["police"]   # jobs treated as police
```

Changing `inventory:slots` is worth thinking about before you go live, because the BODY column uses the **last** slots of each player's inventory. With 50 slots the body slots are 39 to 50. If you change the number, open `data/body.lua` and move them to match.

### 4. Your items

Items are defined in `data/items.lua`, and their pictures go in `web/images` as `.png`, named after the item. An item with no picture still works; it just shows an empty box.

### 5. Start the server

Your players' inventories are created as they join. Nothing to import.

### Changing things afterwards

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://fantasy-scripts.gitbook.io/docs/inventory-or-quick-stash-+-body-slots-+-backpacks/installation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
